Baize Martial Arts

Welcome to Baize Martial Arts.  Congratulations on your decision to take the challenge towards personal excellence!  The purpose of this site is to make your start with our school easy and comfortable.  Included will be a starter course. The starter course is considered a trial program and consists of two semi-private lessons with a professional Black Belt instructor. There is no obligation with the exception of a $29.95 cost and includes an official karate uniform (valued at $36.95). This trial program will give you a chance to see if you like the service available at our school. If you decide to join, we will give you a third semi-private lesson to prep you for class.

After the second semi-private lesson, we will give all the beginners an analysis of their progress. Also at this time we will have a conference with each student to review our schedules, prices, programs, and discuss the benefits of Karate training. If the student is a minor, we ask that both parents attend the first two introductory lessons. Students are requested to be prepared to make tuition arrangements at this time if they decide to enroll.

All of our classes are arranged according to the level of ability of each student to assure that he or she is training with other students of the same capabilities. Most of our members train two classes per week. Our school does not charge any testing fees, certificates, etc. Also, if we feel private tutoring is necessary, we provide that at no extra charge as well.

Baize Martial Arts

Karate is a word made of two Japanese characters kara, meaning empty, and te, meaning hand; thus, karate means “empty hand.” The martial arts can be divided into two major systems, hard and soft (external and internal). There are many differences in each style weather they are soft as Aikido or hard as Karate. Karate is known as a martial art, a fighting style, or a self-defense method. It involves several variety of techniques, including blocks, strikes, evasions, throws, and joint manipulations. Karate can be divided into five aspects: Kihon (basics), Kata (forms), Kumite (sparing), a portion consisting of terminology, history and knowledge of the martial arts in general, and the fifth is practical application and experience. Today there are four main styles of karate-do in Japan: Goju-ryu, Shito-ryu, Shotokan, and Wado-ryu.

United Bujutsu Federation is a Karate style founded by David Okawa Baize.  It is an organization that promotes and teaches three styles of karate,  Kami Bushi Kai (the original system).  Kami Bushi Do (a sub-system), and Kami Bushi Jutsu (a sub-system).  All components while capable of standing alone remain part of the whole.  Students may practice in the federation – percussion arts such as Karate, Kenpo, and Tae Kwon Do; grappling arts such as Jujitsu, Aikido, and Judo; and weaponry arts such as traditional Okinawan weapons or Filipino Escrima.
