THE UNITED BUJUTSU FEDERATION EMBLEM

THE U.B.F. EMBLEM WAS DESIGNED TO GIVE THE U.B.F. STUDENTS A CUSTOM PATCH THAT THEY CAN PROUDLY DISPLAY.  THE EMBLEM WAS DESIGNED BY SHIHAN DAN MCCASLIN WITH THE INPUT AND APPROVAL OF SOKE DAVID BAIZE.

THE DESIGN

The octagon shape of the patch represents the eight directions of attack / defense.

The American and Japanese flags represent the ancestry of the founder of the United Bujutsu Federation – David Okawa Baize.

The three color circular design at the center represents the three components of the Kami Bushi Arts – Kami Bushi Kai (the original system).  Kami Bushi Do (a sub-system), and Kami Bushi Jutsu (a sub-system).  All components while capable of standing alone remain part of the whole.

The three color design can also represent the three types of arts that the U.B.F. students may practice in the federation – percussion arts such as Karate, Kenpo, and Tae Kwon Do; grappling arts such as Jujitsu, Aikido, and Judo; and weaponry arts such as traditional Okinawan weapons or Filipino Escrima.

The tiger design at the center of the three color circle represents our link to the Father of Modern Karate – Master Gichin Funakoshi.

The Kanji Characters at the bottom mean United Bujutsu Federation.

EMBLEM COLORS

White represents purity of purpose.  All arts studied for self improvement and self defense.

Black represents unshakeable warrior spirit.

Red Represents passion for the art – the burning desire to further one’s knowledge.

Blue is the color of water.  As martial arts we should strive to be like water.  Flexible, fluid, and able to conform to any situation just as water conforms to the shape of its container.
